Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal details The Master Bakery collects when you order through themasterbakery.com or our app, why we need them, who sees them, and the choices you have. We have kept it short and in plain words. If anything is unclear, contact us (section 12).

The Master Bakery, Shop No 5/6, Asmita Uphar 2, Navgrah Complex, Poonam Sagar Complex, Mira Road East, Mira Bhayandar, Maharashtra 401107, is responsible for your personal data (the “data fiduciary” under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).

1. What we collect

Mobile number (required): to call you about your order and to recognise your account.
Name (optional): so the rider knows whom to ask for.
Delivery address: house / flat / building, landmark, and any delivery instructions you write.
Delivery pin: the spot you mark on the map, or your phone’s location if you tap “Use my current location”.
Recipient’s details: when you choose “Deliver to a different address”, the name, mobile number and address of the person receiving the order.
Order details: what you ordered, the amounts, and how you paid at the door (cash or UPI).
Technical details: your IP address and browser type in our server’s logs, and the small files described in section 7.

We do not ask for your email address, date of birth or any identity document. We never see or store card or bank details (see section 5).

2. Why we use it

To take, prepare and deliver your order, and to call you if the rider cannot find you.
To check that your address is inside our delivery area (about 1 km from the shop).
To remember your details on your phone, so your next order is quicker (section 6).
To show you your past and current orders, and to let you repeat an order.
To keep our accounts and meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your data, rent it out, or use it for advertising. We do not send marketing messages unless you ask us to.

3. Your location

We use your phone’s location only on the checkout page, and only after you allow it. It places your delivery pin on the map. You can also skip it and tap the map yourself. The pin is saved with your order so the rider can navigate to it, and saved to your account so it is ready next time (except when you order for a different address). Elsewhere in the shop we only remember, on your own phone, whether you are inside or outside our delivery area, never where you are.

4. Who sees your details

Our shop staff and delivery riders: your name, mobile number, address, pin and order, only to prepare and deliver it. Riders open your pin in Google Maps to navigate, which shares the pin’s position (not your name or number) with Google.
New-order alerts: our staff are alerted to new orders on a messaging app. These alerts carry only the order number, the items and the total, with no name, mobile number or address.
Our service providers, who process data only to run our website:
- Hostinger, which hosts our website and stores its data;
- OpenStreetMap, which supplies the map pictures on the checkout page, and unpkg, which supplies the map’s program code. Your browser contacts them when the map loads, so they see your IP address.
Authorities, when the law requires it.

5. Payments

You pay when your order arrives, by cash, UPI or by scanning our QR code. UPI payments are handled entirely by your UPI app and banks; we receive only the payment confirmation. We never collect card numbers, UPI PINs or bank passwords.

6. Your account and staying signed in

When you place your first order, we create a simple account linked to your mobile number (there is no password). It keeps your delivery address, map pin and past orders, and keeps you signed in on that phone, so your details fill in by themselves next time. You stay signed in for 180 days from your most recent order: every new order starts the 180 days again. This works on that phone only. To sign out, use Account > Log out. To have the account deleted, contact us (section 12).

7. Cookies and similar small files

We use only the small files the shop needs to work. They remember your cart, keep you signed in, remember your delivery-area check and whether you closed the “Install app” prompt, and show your order’s progress. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you block them in your browser, the cart and checkout will not work.

8. How long we keep it

Orders (with the delivery details on them): for as long as our accounting and tax records must be kept under Indian law, then deleted.
Your account and saved pin: until you ask us to delete them, or until the account has not been used for a long time.
Server logs: for a limited period, and at least as long as the law requires.

9. How we protect it

Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Only our own staff can open orders, using accounts protected by a password and a second code from an authenticator app. Riders receive only the details of the orders they are delivering.

10. Your rights

You can ask us to:

tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
correct or update it;
delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it (for example, order records for our accounts);
withdraw your consent (we will then stop using your data for anything that needs it; we may be unable to take new orders without a mobile number and address);
name someone to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity.

Contact us using the details in section 12, from the mobile number linked to your orders so we can confirm it is you. We will reply as soon as we can, and within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

11. Children

Our shop is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to place the order.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. For important changes, we will also tell you on the website or app before they apply.
